  47.      SnoopDos patches a variety of AmigaDOS library functions that
  48.      are commonly called by other programs and allows you to monitor
  49.      the activities carried out by those programs.
  50.  
  51.      For example, you can see what files a program is looking for,
  52.      what fonts it opens, and any special libraries or devices that
  53.      it requires. This is often invaluable when you are trying to
  54.      install a new application which has complex or inadequate
  55.      documentation

  59.      Many features have been added to SnoopDos since version 1.7.

  63.        o  A full GUI provides easy access to all options

  65.        o  Output that scrolls off the window can be recalled
  66.        o  Messages sent by ARexx scripts can be monitored
  67.        o  Commodity support lets SnoopDos run in the background
  68.        o  Clipboard support lets you cut and paste output
  69.        o  Programs that use ixemul.library for i/o can be monitored
  70.        o0 A packet debugger lets programmers monitor all DOS packets
  71.        o  Over 100 ARexx commands provide for unattended operation
  72.        o  Online AmigaGuide help covers all aspects of operation

  107.  
  108.      Several bogus versions of SnoopDos have appeared in the past
  109.      two years. These have been disguised as legitimate updates while
  110.      harbouring trojan horses or other undesirable intruders. The most
  111.      recent such release, labelled 2.0, is still generally available.
  112.  
  113.      To help guard against this happening in the future, all new
  114.      versions of SnoopDos will be signed using PGP (Pretty Good
  115.      Privacy) by Philip Zimmermann. This allows anyone who is in
  116.      possession of my PGP public key to verify that a particular
  117.      release genuinely came from myself and not from a third party.
  118.  
  119.      PGP is not required to use SnoopDos; it merely allows you to
  120.      verify that you have a legitimate and unmodified copy. You can
  121.      download PGP from the /pub/aminet/util/crypt directory on
  122.      Aminet. The filename is PGPAmiga2_3a.lha.

  124.      My PGP public key is presented below for convenience. This key
  125.      will work with all future releases of SnoopDos.
  126.      
  127.      If you have installed PGP, save this announcement to a file and
  128.      then type "PGP <filename>" to install my key on your PGP keyring.
  129.      You can then verify the integrity of SnoopDos by extracting the
  130.      SnoopDos archive and typing "PGP Readme.first SnoopDos". See the
  131.      PGP documentation for more ynformation on verifying signatures.

  134.      archive -- if it was, then anyone modifying the program could
  135.      also modify the key and escape undetected.
